Egeplast is Germany’s largest independent producer of polyethylene pipe. The company operates 15 ultra-modern extrusion lines, producing pipe for drinking water, gas, sewage and cable ducting.

An innovation and technology leader, egeplast today offers not only standard pipe but a diverse range of value-adding specialty pipes. This includes Egeplast 9010 pipe for laying without sand beds, Egeplast SLM pipe for trenchless laying, SLA pipe to carry drinking water in contaminated soil and 3L-SLA pipe with integrated leak detection. Especially in the past ten years, the advent of these new pipe systems has hugely expanded applications for HDPE pipe. Egeplast invented and patented the original manual design of today’s QuickSwitch some years ago.

In 2000, egeplast built the biggest and most advanced production plant for HDPE pipe in Europe. egeplast is currently reaping the benefits of more than 10 extrusion lines fitted with QuickSwitch systems where outer pipe diameters and wall thicknesses can be steplessly changed without stopping the production line. The system, developed in close cooperation with KraussMaffei Berstorff, is proving a resounding success – and it has already earned the egeplast the Münsterland Innovation Award.
